Hey, I'm Nate πŸ‘‹

Software Quality β€’ Systems Engineering β€’ Developer Tooling β€’ Open Source

I'm a software quality and technical systems professional with experience spanning enterprise software QA, systems administration, technical support, integration testing, and troubleshooting.

I enjoy building practical tools, investigating difficult bugs, automating repetitive workflows, and understanding how complex systems fit together.

My work spans TypeScript development, Linux infrastructure, test automation, APIs, networking, and open-source contributions.

I care about reproducibility, maintainability, clear failure modes, and solving problems at the right layer.

πŸš€ Featured projects

πŸ”₯ Bun Burner

TypeScript β€’ WebSockets β€’ Synchronization β€’ Automated Testing

A source-preserving, bidirectional synchronization tool for the game Bitburner, designed to integrate external development environments with its in-game filesystem.

  • Preserves JavaScript, JSX, TypeScript, and TSX source files without requiring transpilation during synchronization.
  • Implements conflict detection, hashing, recovery copies, and conservative failure handling.
  • Includes unit and integration testing for filesystem behavior, synchronization, and error recovery.
  • Uses cross-platform CI validation and live integration testing.

Current development: Node.js compatibility, npm packaging, and a planned VS Code extension.

πŸ“± Chora

Kotlin β€’ Android TV β€’ QA β€’ Open Source

Contributor to Chora, an open-source Android music application.

Three merged upstream pull requests:

  • #116: Corrected Navidrome provider initialization during replacement.
  • #118: Enabled existing debug-build validation for pull requests.
  • #121: Added playlist deletion confirmation with proper handling of held remote-control input.

Validated behavior using Android emulators and physical Fire TV hardware, including navigation, playback, artwork, and lyrics.

πŸ–₯️ Fedora Homelab & Infrastructure Automation

Fedora Linux β€’ Podman β€’ systemd Quadlet β€’ Ansible β€’ Caddy β€’ DNS

Building and maintaining a self-hosted environment focused on infrastructure automation, service integration, and secure networking.

  • Containerized services managed through Podman and systemd Quadlets.
  • HTTPS and reverse-proxy configuration using Caddy.
  • DNS infrastructure using AdGuard Home and Unbound.
  • Git-managed configuration and evolving Ansible automation.
  • Service monitoring, private networking, and infrastructure troubleshooting.

Status: Active personal infrastructure project. Public documentation and sanitized architecture examples are planned.

πŸ”Œ MCP Integrations & Cloudflare Workers

Model Context Protocol β€’ APIs β€’ Cloudflare Workers β€’ Authentication

Developed two personal ChatGPT integrations using MCP and Cloudflare Workers.

Work includes API adapters, request validation, authentication controls, secret handling, and automated contract testing.

The integrations are functional personal deployments. Their operational configurations remain private.
