Accept assignment / Create repo fails on Group Assignment (groups assigned by teacher) #1065
|
I'm trying Classroom 50 for the first time this semester, and we've had a couple successful individual assignments so far, but we're about to start the first team assignment, with teacher-assigned teams. I was testing it to make sure things work before releasing the assignment, as follows:
When I try to accept the assignment, it fails on the "Creating your repository" step and gives the following error message:
I looked in GitHub and confirmed that the Team is in fact created in the Organization, but no repo for my team was ever crated (only the original template repo is there, as well as obviously the Classroom50 repo and some repos for other assignments). Anyone have any ideas what's happening, or what I could try? I could use self-assigned groups and tell them they need to just choose to work in the groups I've assigned -- it's a small enough class that no one could cheat this and not get noticed -- but it'd like to do it properly if this isn't too hard to figure out... Thanks! |

Thanks for the detailed report! There were some issues with the way we handle the team assignment acceptance flow when the team owner is both assigning the team and accepting the assignment. Under normal usage, this shouldn’t be an issue for your students. That said, we’ve already addressed the issues and will release an update later today, so you’ll be able to test the assignment acceptance flow yourself without using a separate student account. |
